A dramatic decline in humanitarian aid is impacting millions of people around the world. As Baptists, we can stand in the gap for our brothers and sisters who are in need. The report below from the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) outlines what is happening and how you can help in this global crisis.

“We are writing today to ask for your urgent help. Over the last 100 days, there has been a rapid deceleration of humanitarian aid around the world that is impacting millions of lives.

The BWA is hearing from Baptist groups from Myanmar, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and more imploring us to send urgent life-saving assistance. We cannot stress how dire the situation is for many across the globe.

We cannot replace the millions of aid dollars that have been lost, but as the Church, we also cannot sit on the sidelines. Together, we must hear the voice of Jesus calling us to stand in solidarity with the suffering. Together, we must stand in the gap to help sisters and brothers in desperate need.

We are asking for your help in three specific ways:

1 GIVE

BWA’s capacity to respond depends on you and your generosity. Your donation will be deployed quickly to provide food, water, healthcare, shelter, and other basic needs around the world. Click here to give now.

2 PRAY

Join us in interceding for all of those affected by the current crisis. Download our prayer guide to unite with Baptists worldwide in strategic prayer.

A global crisis requires a global response. Would you share this urgent appeal with your friends, congregations, and social media networks? Click here for resources to help you spread the word within your social networks.”
