Annie Snook is the Global Catalyst of Arotahi (formerly New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society) and is part of Manukau City Baptist Church in Auckland.

Walk into the office, grab a Common Good Coffee from the kitchen, and say mōrena to your team on the way to your desk. Scan your inbox... Another excited email pops up from a nurse in Waikatō. They’re interested in knowing more about opportunities to engage with the mission of God. You send a quick message to Brian and Gay, who are always excited to hear about an opportunity to host someone in South Asia. Two others are starting a global placement in November, meaning it is a great time to start working on preparing and training them with our Global Catalyst Annie. Nice!

Time to jump onto a Zoom chat with Jo in South Asia. She is stoked to hear you have some more people signing up for global placements. You chat about booking some accommodation and new visa rules that you’ll all need to be aware of. You chuck that in your ever-changing travel to-do’s; sometimes it can be challenging keeping up to date with these things! Luckily, you work with a global team familiar with this kind of thing.

You, your co-worker, Jasmine, and a few theologians from Carey Baptist College are working together on some formational material for young people! You brainstorm over (another!) delicious coffee, dreaming of some of the ways young people might be encouraged and compelled to cry out to God for justice on behalf of the orphan, the widow, and the poor. You’re thankful to work alongside theologians who care deeply about the content they teach.

After a quick dad joke from David *facepalm*, you leave the office to find a cafe (and maybe get a herbal tea this time) to get into proofing the latest draft of some training material. You love the chance to help create resources that encourage people to look to God for their hand-carved mission in this world.

A full day, you’re feeling satisfied, challenged and excited for the week ahead.

If you’re looking for work that is invigorating, rich, and meaningful, you’ve just found it! Travel and people-facing work is heavily involved, so if that sounds a bit like you, then we are keen to chat.
