The National Leader of the Baptist Churches of New Zealand, Te Haahi Iriiri o Aotearoa, Charles Hewlett and Te Pouarataki moo te Whiikoi, Luke Kaa-Morgan pay tribute to Kiingi Tuuheitia, the Maaori King.

Kiingi Tuuheitia will be remembered for his advocacy of Maaori, his vision for a future where all people experience dignity and respect and his unwavering commitment for unity and peace. He was dedicated to our nation and leaves a rich legacy.

The thoughts and prayers of our churches are with his whaanau during this season of mourning and also with the Kiingitanga.

Baptist representatives will be present at Tuurangawaewae Marae.

Pai Maarire.
