About this role

Part-time, 0.8 (FTE) (32 hour per week)

North Porirua Baptist Church (NPBC) is looking for someone who is called to minster in the role as Youth and Families Pastor. Located in Whitby, Porirua (Wellington), NPBC is passionate to love God and love others as we seek to build God’s Kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven. NPBC has discerned as a body of believers to fulfil our mission by BELIEVING God’s word, LIVING by faith and by SHARING the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As our Youth and Families pastor, you will ultimately be charged with the oversight of our children, youth and young adults ministries. However, we are desiring a candidate who also has a heart for the wider church and shows commitment to the vision and direction of the church (as time permits).

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a committed Christian who has a personal relationship with God that is evidenced by godly character and a servant heart (in every area of life (personal and public)).
  • Have theological training and previous experience (this is desirable, but not essential).
  • Maintain good personal practices to sustain physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
  • Accept the Baptist doctrine of faith and practice.
  • Have a calling to ministry (especially youth and families).
  • Be able to work well with church volunteers and recognises the spiritual authority of the Elders and Senior Pastor.
  • Be able to build and lead teams as well as being able to work and contribute positively in a team environment.
  • Have excellent communication skills and is able to preach and teach.
  • Be passionate about discipleship and seeing the Kingdom of God grow.
  • Advocate and support the NPBC vision and mission.

If you are up for the challenge and want to be part of an amazing Church, then please contact Jeremy at [email protected] for a job description and further information (or phone on (04) 234 7336). We are looking for someone to potentially start in October 2024 (though this is negotiable).
