SPREAD: Discipleship series

Tim concludes our SREAD series, with D for Developing Other Disciples. In 2 Tim 2:2 we see four generations of discipling; of passing on the ball of the gospel to others.

Tim continues in our SPREAD series, with A for Actioning God's Mission. God sends Jesus to the world, and Jesus sends us to the world. We are a community church for the wider community; what does mission look like for us? Tim gives suggestions based on Acts 1:8.

Let us consider how we may spur one another on to love and good deed, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.

Praying Expectantly. Because of Jesus we are accepted We are adored by a Father who: gives out of his glorious riches, is and does beyond our imagination, and is always working for his glory The Holy Spirit accompanies us

Work is good not bad. - part of God's original Genesis 2 creation plan, so is 'good'. - Work is not the result of the fall in chapter 3, so not a curse. Where is God in our work?

Tim starts our SREAD series, all about discipleship. In all aspect, discipleship starts and ends with Jesus. It’s more about what Jesus has done than about what we do. Tim introduces the next few weeks: S for Serving in church, P for pray expectantly, R for read the Bible, E for engaging with community, A for action God’s mission and D for develop other disciples.
