With one of the largest youth ministry networks in New Zealand, Baptist youth work has over 2,000 people providing youth work (paid and volunteer) and engages with over 20,000 young people of intermediate age, high school age, and young adult age, throughout the country, every week.

During discussion at our last National Hui held at Bethlehem Baptist Church (3-5 Nov 2022) there was an impassioned plea from our people for there to be greater leadership and communication around Baptist Youth Ministries. A few weeks later a group gathered to discern how the future might be different (you can read about this gathering here – Spectacular Youth: Youth Catalyst). This started the search for a Youth Catalyst.

It is exciting to announce that Ethan Miller has been appointed to the role of Youth Catalyst for the Baptist Churches of New Zealand, and he commenced in March 2023. This is a significant appointment for our collective of faith communities and we give thanks to God for his faithfulness to us. Read more about Ethan and the Youth Catalyst role here…

A new online presence for Baptist youth will be up and running by June 2023. Ethan has started a fortnightly email update – if you’re not on that list you can ask to be added by emailing him using his address below:
