Who we endeavour to be:

Whanganui Central Baptist Church is a community of those who believe in Jesus Christ, united together, growing spiritually, and actively engaging in our community and the world. We strive to remain rooted in God’s Word, seeking guidance through Holy Spirit inspired sermons and teachings grounded in the Bible, both from the senior pastor and existing church members.

Current Staff

The staff comprises – a full-time associate pastor, and three part time staff – an Office manager, a Children and Families Team Leader, and a Cleaner.

The person we are looking for:

Within the context of the Ministry-led model of Church Leadership, the Senior Pastor is the key visionary leader with involvement in and oversight of all ministries.

This person will

• hold a current Baptist Registration
• be responsible for the provision of community services including Weddings, Dedications, Baptisms and Funerals.
• engage with staff and ministry leaders using a collaborative leadership style.
• be an integral member of the governance body, i.e. The Eldership.
• provide oversight and support of Staff and Ministry Team Leaders.
• be accountable to the Eldership for all activities the Church is engaged in.
• have an understanding of Baptist protocols, policies, standards and practices.
• accept and abide by the articles of faith, policies and protocols of Whanganui Central Baptist Church.
