Sports Chaplaincy NZ is a Christian charity that provides pastoral care and wellbeing support to sports clubs and teams across the motu. We have a core team of three national staff and eight Regional Leaders and over one hundred volunteer Sports Chaplains nationally serving in twenty-one different sports codes and at all levels of sport.

As our Regional Leader for Auckland South, you will be responsible to promote SCNZ to churches and sports organisations within your region, to identify potential chaplains, journey with them through our online training and accreditation process and help them find a suitable placement. You will also provide ongoing support, including networking your Sports Chaplains and encouraging their ongoing professional development.

You will be trained as a Sports Chaplain yourself and encouraged to give 10% of your hours into a strategic chaplaincy role so that you can lead your team by example.

As do all our staff and regional leaders, you will be required to raise at least 50% of your salary before commencing the role (the rest is raised centrally). Full training and support will be provided to enable you to do so.

We are looking for someone who is a committed follower of Jesus, is able to work as part of a dispersed team, is hard working and highly motivated, has previous pastoral leadership experience, excellent communication skills, able to raise up and lead leaders, delegate appropriately, and is competent with admin and computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
